Want something quick, easy, and basic for breakfast? These strawberry smoothies made with milk and yogurt are a great way to kick your morning into gear!
I’ve been on a HUGE smoothie kick lately. Blame it on the new spring weather we’ve been having, I guess! Not that I’m complaining about any of this. I love spring and I LOVE a good smoothie.
This one is basic, but it’s one of my FAVORITE go-to smoothie recipes. And it uses my absolute favorite yogurt, Greek Gods Strawberry and Honey. A friend of mine got me hooked on this stuff a few years ago. The flavor is light and I love the thick, creamy texture.
I feel like a lot of Greek yogurts are too thick, but this one is perfect. They kept in just enough of the whey (the only difference between Greek yogurt and regular yogurt is the amount of liquid–or whey–that’s been drained from it once it’s made) to keep this from being too thick.
Maybe I’m just strange, though. 😛
Strawberry Smoothies
- 1 cup of cut strawberries
- 1/2 cup Greek Gods Strawberry and Honey Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup milk
Step 01: Toss all of the ingredients into a food processor or blender and blend until smooth.
That’s it. Don’t you just love how fast and easy smoothies are? 🙂
This makes 1 large smoothie or 2 small-ish smoothies, depending on the serving size you want. I think one is the perfect size for breakfast.
If you want to lower the sugar content, use plain Greek yogurt and unsweetened almond milk. You can also use raw honey for your own take on the strawberry and honey flavor of the Greek Gods yogurt. Either way, the strawberries have enough flavor to carry this smoothie on their own. 🙂
Honestly, plain berry smoothies have GOT to be one of my favorite things. They’re a cinch to make and they have such a nice, bold, but simple flavor. They’re a great way to start the morning. 🙂
What is your favorite smoothie flavor?
