Strawberry Kiwi Sangria is simple to make, pretty to look at, and perfect for both brunch mimosas and summer evenings relaxing on the porch.
Last year around this time, I got on a sangria kick and make my Sweet Orange Sangria. This time of the year, I love citrus. But Zach and I decided we wants something a little different. Our local grocery store got in a beautiful batch of strawberries and had kiwis on sale, so naturally those were the fruits we picked.
You can use whatever wine you want for this, but I wanted something sweet and light in color. So I went with Sutter Home’s Pink Moscato.
Strawberry Kiwi Sangria
- 1 bottle rose wine
- 2 kiwis, sliced and cut into quarters
- 1 cup strawberries, culled and quartered
- 2 shots Pennington’s strawberry rye whiskey (optional)
Step 01: Prepare and cut your fruit. Add it to a 4-cup pitcher.
Step 02: Pour the wine and rye over the fruit. Refrigerate for a couple of hours to let the fruit soak up some of the alcohol.
Step 03: Serve chilled and enjoy!
Who doesn’t love easy drinks?
The kiwi is quick to lose its color once it starts soaking up the wine. So if you want it to stay green, I would recommend getting a wine that has very little color. Regular moscato would work, if you want to stay sweet.
On that note, Cupcake makes really nice Moscato. But it’s more expensive than Sutter Home. 😛
About the whiskey
You don’t have to add it, especially if you don’t like whiskey. If you do like whiskey, this stuff is fantastic. To be honest, I prefer not to mix it with anything. We just sip it straight.
I know it sounds weird and the first time I had it, I wasn’t expecting much. But it’s one of my favorite things.
For us, there’s a liquor store close to where we live called Cherry’s Liquor. For those of you who live in either Marietta, Roswell, or Sandy Springs, Ga, it’s a great place to find interesting liquors and the owners are incredibly friendly.
Unfortunately, the Pennington’s isn’t selling so well (flavored vodkas and runs are very popular, but most people hesitate to buy flavored whiskey) and they’re thinking of not selling it anymore.
As a mark to how loyal this place is to their customers, they offered to keep it in stock when I told them Zach and I are fans of it. But I feel bad letting them do that just for us. So if you live in the area, drive over and grab a bottle. You won’t regret it. 😉
Cheers!

CHELSEY!!! These look amazing. That fruit! Unfortunately I don’t like wine…but I bet I could find something else to make these with. I want to drink the whole carafe!
Hahaha! Thanks, Mary! If you don’t want alcohol at all, you could definitely substitute with flavored sodas! I wouldn’t go full-on strawberry, but if you can find a ginger ale or sprite that’s strawberry flavored, it would give you the same basic flavor as this wine. 🙂
I LOVE sangria and this makes me want to drink a whole thing of it! Wow. Great recipe! Pinning! Thanks for sharing this at Totally Terrific Tuesday last week! Can’t wait to see what you have lined up for this week.
