My blog is becoming very popular with the spam bots. I had 84 spam comments waiting for me this morning. Wow.
Zach and I decided we wanted burgers last week, but I was really tired of the same taste. I usually either leave them plain or make some kind of BBQ sauce to put in them. This time, I went with spicy…again. But it wasn’t too spicy this time. =P And it was very good!
I understand it’s winter and much of you are probably experiencing cold weather, so grilling these might not be an option. I hate pan frying (anything), so I choose to bake them. Of course, you can cook these anyway you want.
What you’ll need:
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp chipotle chile pepper (1/2 tsp if you’re sensitive to spicy food)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tsps onion powder
- 1 tbsps parsley flakes
- 2 tsps cumin
- 1 tsp jalepeno cheddar popcorn seasoning (optional–I added it because it’s too painful to put on popcorn and I need to get rid of it)
Step 01: Preheat oven to 350°F. In a medium bowl, mix everything together.
Step 02: Mold your meat mixture into patties. The size of each patty will dictate how many you’ll get. I made them big, so we only got four. But I think I could have gotten about six. Place them on a prepared baking sheet.
Step 03: Bake for 15 minutes, flip over, and bake for another 10 minutes. They’re done when the juices run clear.
These are good to eat like traditional burgers, or you can eat them by themselves. They’re so flavorful. I think this seasoning mix would also be very good in turkey stuffed peppers (or any other recipe with ground meat), if you get sick of having the same recipe over and over again.
