Oatmeal cookie smoothies are currently one of Zach’s favorite things. Not much of a surprise, since oatmeal (and, therefore, oatmeal cookies) are among his favorite things. The smoothie is surprisingly easy to make and does, in fact, take like an oatmeal cookie.
Oatmeal Cookie Smoothie
- 1/4 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1 banana, ripened and peeled
- 1 cup nut milk OR 1/2 cup regular dairy milk
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
Step 01: Puree and blend the ingredients. In place of oatmeal, I like to use oat flour, which I get by putting oatmeal into a coffee grinder until it turns into a fine powder. If you choose to do that, just put in 1/4 cup oatmeal and use that.
Very easy! And very delicious. The recipe came from Gimme Some Oven, though I made a couple minor changes. (I felt this didn’t need any sweetener.)
In the meantime, I need to catch up on my social media. I’ve been MIA for the last week or so due to relocation. Zach and I have moved into Sandy Springs, GA (just north of Atlanta) and are almost done unpacking! It’s beautiful here. Hot, of course, but it hasn’t been humid so the heat has actually been nice (coming from someone who haaaates heat and summer, that’s saying something). I’m not optimistic about how summer will be for me, considering this is only April. But that’s future Chelsey’s problem. We’ll let that chick deal with it. 😉
