Today was laundry day, so I didn’t get much done. Laundry day for me doesn’t happen on any particular day…though it’s probably more often on Mondays. This week, laundry day was today because I do laundry at a friend’s house (no washer and dryer here, which is why I don’t get much else done on laundry day). Since he said he would probably cut out from work early, I decided today would be good because then we could hang out a little…which we don’t get to do much. So after I finished my laundry, I stayed a little while longer until Zach was home from work.
When I got home, Zach had moved his sister’s old bed into our office for me! Which is great because my sister is spending her Thanksgiving break with us. So I put blankets and stuff on the bed, since tomorrow begins a huge grocery sale on Thanksgiving stuff. So I may be busy from here until Tuesday. Who knows? This is just one less thing I’ll have to do then. Of course, once the blankets got put on the bed, the neatness of the bed set off how chaotic the rest of the room looked. So I tried to clean. Tried.
I think the office will be the next room that I organize. There’s just so much I don’t know what to do with.
The magazines are on the floor because they belong to a friend. She let me borrow them over a year ago…and I gave them back to her once when she stopped by for a visit and she forgot to take them home. -_-
Anyway, I want to get some containers (possibly something like this?) at least for the bottom shelf. It’s horrendous. I need to put the last two pieces of cork up, but I want to attach some fabric or something to give them pouches to hold “In” and “Out” mail.
This is what’s driving me crazy. I really wish I could find a way to organize this. My hall closet is useless; therefore, my vacuum sits in the office. -_- That bag is a sandbag Zach takes running with him. And then there’s his guitar, guitar case, and amp. The case can go under the bed. His Mac needs to find a better spot. And then my giant blue ball and my crafty toollbox. I have no clue what to do with those. I need to think about this….
My desk has a tendency to get messy. I want to put some cork in the background, connecting the hutch with the desk. And then put some fabric or something over the cork. I do need an organizer for the drawers, because they’re chaotic. And I definitely need to figure out what to do with that metal chair. I mostly use it in the kitchen when I can’t reach something. But I try not to because I’m afraid I’ll fall off of it. There’s also stuff under the desk: a trash can, a tool kit, some old computer stuff that we have no use for but just have to keep for some reason, and a box with important documents in it (but not too important…the really important stuff is kept safely somewhere else). And, obviously, I need to vacuum. Which I didn’t see until this picture. I guess that’s the flash at work.
This room needs a lot of work. I also want to do something with that lamp on top of the hutch. Maybe put some new fabric on it and paint it.
I want to do this whole room in yellow and grey. Of course, I don’t have anything in yellow and grey so the colors I have will have to do for now.
The clutter just never stops.
