Crock pot pizza soup is n easy, delicious soup your whole family will love. It can be customized to fit the needs of the pickiest eaters. Also works as a freezer meal!
Crock Pot Pizza Soup
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 can diced tomatoes (or 1 lbs fresh tomatoes, diced)
- 1 14-oz can tomato sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 package of pepperoni, diced (or use mini pepperonis)
- pizza toppings (olives, mushrooms, peppers, sausage, etc.)
- 1 1/2 cups broth (beef, chicken, or vegetable)
- cheesy garlic croutons or breadsticks, for serving (optional)
- mozzarella cheese, for serving (optional)
Step 01: Add everything to your crock pot and cook on low for 4 hours.
It’s really as simple as that! My favorite pizza toppings, so far, have been sausage, pepperoni, and green bell peppers (I use 1/2 cup, diced). I would also love to add mushrooms and olives, but Zach isn’t a fan.
The idea for this soup actually came from Sweet Twist of Blogging. In fact, the croutons did, too, but I completely forgot to leave the attribution. -_- I loved her idea! But I wound up making a lot of changes to the soup the second time around. I hope you enjoy it!
Freezer Friendly Tips
- One of the great things about this is that you can put all of the ingredients (even the cooked sausage) into the freezer bag and store it. Make this ahead of time and cook it when you’re ready!
- This can be stored in the freezer for 4-6 months.
- Use a larger bag than you need (I used a gallon bag), so when it’s flat, it won’t take up as much room.
- If you make your own chicken broth, it can be frozen for 6-12 months before the flavor begins to fade. Use ice cube trays for faster freezing and thawing.
Budget Friendly Tips
- Use chicken bouillon instead of packaged liquid broth. It’s the same thing, except all liquid has been evaporated out of it. Or you can make your own chicken broth the next time you cook chicken.

This looks awesome! We do “Pizza Pasta” at our house –rontini pasta, marinara, pepperonis, black olives, mushrooms and mozarella – now I need to try this one! Thanks for sharing!

Haha! I hope you found something useful, Amy! I need to go through some of those posts and update them. Technology changes so much, it’s difficult to keep my site up-to-date with it all. Thanks! 🙂
