It takes 10 weeks to establish a healthy habit. Why not start your new year with this daily exercise printable to remind yourself to get up and exercise?
My friend Jenn sent me a text filled with a weekly exercise regimen. She sent it weeks ago, but I just remembered yesterday that I had it…so I started working on it. They’re great exercises. Very quick to do and they really make me hurt. (I can tell that I don’t work these muscles nearly as much as I should.) The only problem was that looking at my phone was a pain…so I wrote them down and hung them on my TV stand (to remind myself to get off the couch). But it was so ugly. So I got on Photoshop and I made this!
Much better!
On second glance, I wish I had put the days of the week closer together. But for something that took me all of five minutes to make and has no drying time, I’m quite happy with it. Plus I can go back and change it later if I really want to. (I also just realized that I forgot to check it for spelling errors. Oops. We’ll just ignore any that we see for right now. =P) In case you’re curious, the fonts I used were Bebas Neue and Caviar Dreams.
I read an interesting study a while back that said it takes ten weeks for something to become healthy a habit (bad habits are easy, of course, but healthy ones take time to establish). My goal is to test that by doing these exercises for ten weeks…and hopefully they’ll become part of my daily ritual. I started on December 18, which means that by February 26, I should just be doing these exercises habitually. I’m also curious to see what my abs look like at the end of those 10 weeks. =)
At some point, I intend to print this off, put it in a frame, and keep it in the living room (which is the only place I have room to do any of these exercises). That will probably be after Christmas, when all of our decorations come down and we have room for something else.
I made these in all sorts of colors (and WITHOUT the obnoxious tag at the bottom! That’s there for Tumblr reasons, by the way) in case any of you were interested and wanted to grab one. They are 8.5×11 inches and, hopefully, clicking on the thumbnail will take you to the full size version. If not, please let me know and I’ll fix it.
