Monday’s decorative clothespins were only the first half of a project. Admittedly, I didn’t do much of the work on this particular half.
All I did was customize it.
I have had Shanty2Chic’s Free Printable Alphabet Banner saved for about a year now…and I finally had the chance to use it! It made life so much easier.
What you’ll need:
- printables
- scissors
- double-sided tape
- poster board in blue and yellow
- ruler
- pencil
- ribbon or string
Step 01: Print off the letters you need and cut them out. Arrange them on the poster board. Use double-sided tape to hold the letters down so they don’t move around while you measure and cut.
Step 03: Use a ruler to draw a border about 1/2-inch larger than the cut-outs.
Step 04: Cut out the poster board. Arrange on string or ribbon to create a sign in your own custom colors.
The mini clothespins weren’t used for the sign. I’ll show you what I did with those on Friday.
It turned out really well, considering we weren’t actually allowed to hang anything up. 😛
Full disclosure: I screwed up the first one and my sister-in-law had to make the one picture above at the last minute. Note to self: no more glue when I’m in a hurry.
The sign cost me less than $5.00 ($0.97 for each piece of poster board, which I bought in yellow and blue, and $0.97 for each roll of ribbon string, also bought in yellow and blue). Not bad!
