Meal planning can be a pain, but does anyone else loathe cooking for themselves? Zach went to a conference in Denver for most of the week, which left me to my own devices. It’s exciting because I have the option to gorge myself on all the foods he hates. (Hello, sauerkraut, I’ve missed you.) But I don’t like cooking for just myself.
So I usually get something I can put in the microwave because I’m lazy.
They say marriage makes men healthier. In this case, I’d say it’s the ONLY thing making me healthier. 😛 Maybe I need to do a “single serving” meal plan one of these days. That might help.
But what’s the terrible part about meal planning? Writing up the grocery list. Which is why my meal plans now come with a pretty, downloadable list for you! I’ve also included some extra lines, so you can add everything else you need.
I also have individual lists that under each recipe. In case there’s a meal you don’t want to buy groceries for (we all have certain things we don’t want to eat. I’ve got you). You can write it down on your normal list or copy and paste it into a document to print. Whatever you want to do.
That should make the whole process easier for you. 🙂

Chicken Divan
Groceries you’ll need:
- 1 lb chicken or turkey
- butter
- milk
- 10 oz broccoli (frozen or fresh)
- 1 bell pepper
- chicken bouillion cubes
- Minute rice
- mayonnaise
- grated Parmesan cheese
- paprika
- fresh cracked pepper (optional)
Pistachio Pudding Cake
Groceries you’ll need:

- 1 box white OR yellow cake mix
- 2Â packages pistachio pudding mix
- eggs
- club soda OR 7 UP OR Ginger Ale
- milk
- Dream Whip
- oil
- chopped walnuts (optional)

Smoked Gouda Mac and Cheese
Groceries you’ll need:
- 16 oz elbow macaroni
- butter
- skim milk
- flour
- heavy cream
- kosher salt
- ground black pepper
- dry mustard
- Worcestershire
- 1 lb smoked gouda cheese
- 1/2 lb shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- bread
- onions (optional)
