Handmade TARDIS Sign

Today, I want to show you a project-sort-of-in-progress. It’s finished, but I haven’t decided if this is exactly what I want it to look like.

It’s a TARDIS sign!

I love Doctor Who. In fact, I’m currently re-watching it while I finish a few knitting projects. (Though I’m taking a break from knitting until my stupid brand freaking new air conditioner gets fixed.)

Anyway, when it comes to Doctor Who projects, I’m generally there.

So a few months ago, when I created my Be Awesome sign, I also tried a TARDIS sign. It was fairly simple–cut out a TARDIS, paint it onto a piece of wood, and stain over the wood. I should have gone with a lighter stain, but overall, I really like it.

I’m thinking of going in a  different direction with this, though. And I would definitely center it better (this is what I get for rushing the job).

I do need to find a paint that’s closer to TARDIS blue. That one looked like it was, but then when the paint went on it really wasn’t what I wanted.

Anyway, description!

It’s a 12×12 inch plaque. The wood is pine, the stain is Espresso.

Something to add to my Etsy shop, though? That’s the ultimate goal, but I’m not sure if this is the version I want to sell. (As if I have another version….)

I did have a lot of fun making it, though!
